A photo story on the Rideau Canal system is hardly congruent with the subject of an art site; however, I do love the outdoors and kayaking. This addition to my website is a way for me to share the enjoyment I experience paddling this world heritage system. There are many great web sites on the subject of the Rideau Canal and for those who may wish to learn more about it then Ken Watson's site www.rideau-info.com is excellent. This page is not intent to supercede these but rather to present a photo journey of the system and let the viewer explore and enjoy it as I do.
As you go to the map, you will notice it is well zoomed out to give you a general location of the waterway. One click of the this marker will zoom you into this area and you will then see markers for all the lock stations on the waterway and the route it follows. A further click of a Lock marker will center the map on that Lock site and also reveal "Blue" markers where I have placed photos for viewing. Click on a "Blue" marker and the photo will appear in an info window. Additional to these features, all the common controls applicable to Google Maps may be used. The following graphically illustrates the layout.

The map will be under continuing update as I add photos.
